Beth and I first sat through an animal show where a girl brought out various reptiles, spiders, and small animals for us to see. Then we walked around the land. There were lots of kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and tons of different birds. There were also duckbilled platypuses, but they proved too elusive for our eyes. Afterword, we had some coffee in the nearby cafe and hiked home on a trail running through the area.

So you got to wander around and the animals would just come up close to you? Are roos sort of like deer would be or something? The wallaby looks sort of fat and cute, like a character out of a cartoon.

Post a few more animal pics if you have them. Interesting. Too bad you missed the platypuses! I read a book about them a few years ago, how their bills are very sophisticated electronically for locating food when they nose around in the mud.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by are roos like deer. Some are similar in color and I guess they both can jump… they both eat vegitation and get hit by cars. I don’t think people really go roo hunting.

If you look at a map we are near Adalaide, which is in South Australia (one of Australia’s states). We are in the center horizontally, and near the south coast.

Beth had never held a big snake like that before. She seemed to enjoy herself but might have been a little creeped.
