Lovely photos. Thanks for posting them and explaining about your time on the peninsula. I know you're in the middle of winter (equivalent to mid-January here), but it doesn't look all that cold--just comfortably cold and even more so with the fire. And, yes, it's great that you're able to get away from the city for a while. When we're back in Omaha (we're at the cottage again), I'll look on the map and in my Australia book to learn more about Flinders and the peninsula.

THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING....to Australia!

Sounds like a sequel of some sort.

Nice photos, glad you guys went on an adventure outside the city to get some fresh air and recharge. AND that you documented it for those of us stuck inside our homes on the other side of the world.

haha glad you guys liked the photos. Marc told us he thought the fort was from around WWI time and to look out for Russians. That's all I know. Aussies were probably a bit over paranoid at the time. I can't imagine anyone taking over Australia. It would be hard to do.

Right, Claire!
I was going to say I'm definitely against walks that severe.

Nice pics!

The russians were going to attack by Melbourne? During WWI? Clever strategy, I guess.

"We took a nice beach walk, which turned into a ‘cliff walk’ that I am honestly surprised didn’t end in at least one of us falling to our death."

Exactly what your loved ones want to hear, I'm sure. ;)

It's beautiful. These are some of my favorite pictures in awhile.

This last weekend Beth and I were invited to Flinders, a quaint town on the ocean-side coast of Mornington Peninsula, the peninsula making up the south-easterly coast of Melbourne's Port Philip Bay. We went with our friend Marc (PRDCTVSM.com // http://www.ssfa.com.au/artists/38/ ), and we all needed a couple days of relaxing away from the city.

We spent most of the weekend relaxing inside, reading, listening to music, and most importantly keeping the fire going.

It was worth it though as we got to hang out in an old WWI (I think) fort, where the Aussies used to keep a lookout for Russians. The view was awesome, looking out to the ocean and Victoria's other bay, Western Port Bay. Western Port bay is home to two main islands and lots of great white sharks.
