Melbourne is known for its markets, and we have already been to several. The photo above is from the Queen Victoria Market, which is Melbourne's largest.

It was a nice to find cheap vegetables after our time in New Zealand. The peppers shown above (called capsicoms on this side of the world), for some reason cost around $3 each in New Zealand. They were almost too expensive to justify buying them. In the markets here they can be had for $4/kg. Beth enjoyed frolicking in the veg, and left with several bags of produce.

The meat section of the market was where I found heaven. There were 20 or 30 stalls selling meat, most with some loud Australian bloke standing out front yelling about how cheap his meats were. I bought two full racks of marinated ribs for $13, 4kg (yes that is a lot) of wings in wing sauce for $20, and some bacon. The wings weren't all for me. We had some friends over and had a wing feast. There are still some wings in the fridge... midnight snack maybe.

There were also cheese stands, bread stands, stands with olives, fresh fish, and lots of other stuff... oh and that is only the food. The largest part of the market was non-edible goods. People hawking clothes, knock-off watches, Australian souviniers, etcetera etcetera. I bought three pairs of underpants.

<img src="http://focus.circulargenius.com/images/victoria_market2.jpg" alt="lots of meat"/>
And on the seventh day, Josh said, "Let there be meat." And it was good.
