I recall your mentioning the Brown Kiwi during your early posts from the North Island. I’m glad you sold the van so easily. We’ve just returned from Ames and watching Iowa State get trounced by Texas. Our friend Dick Lang, who had spent some time in Australia and NZ, said to be sure to tell you to look for the Southern Cross when you’re in Australia and NZ. It’s a small constellation of stars that can be seen in that area. Have a great time in Australia.

Oh yeah, we had no problems selling our van pretty much our first day in Auckland. We got more than we payed for it, so that helped offset buying two vans a bit. The photo above is a bit blurry, but it is of the garden at the Brown Kiwi, where we spent much of our time in Auckland.

We spent a few nice days in Auckland relaxing at the Brown Kiwi, hanging out with friends, and enjoying our last few moments in New Zealand. Now it is on to Melbourne, Australia.
