Port FitzRoy is located on the calm waters of the west coast of Great Barrier Island, and is the largest city on the island. The town consisted of a burger hut and a couple of small stores. We ate fish and chips at the dock and watched people fishing off the boat ramp. Some were fishing with full rods, others were just using hand lines. While we were watching, one fellow fishing a hand line pulled in a good sized (~3 foot) sting ray. Saturday afternoon, our last day on the island, we took the car and headed to Port FitzRoy. Then we get there and there's litterally three or four buildings.
