I did read in a Vietnam paper that they had just passed law allowing people to carry livestock on their motorbikes so long as it is in an enclosure. The article showed a guy carrying several pigs on either side of his bike, but I suppose puppies are covered as well. They also passed legislation that will require children to wear helmets when on motorbikes. This is apparently quite controversial as most Vietnamese believe this practice to be dangerous. Supposedly they believe helmets to be bad for the necks of children.

The last couple of photos have not been as nice because I left the good camera with Beth in Hanoi.

I'm not sure if these dogs were for pets, or for eating. I do know that as I passed by, the guy on the ground hollered at me, "One dog, one dollar." I would assume they were for pets, as they are cute little puppies, but one can never be sure.

The street in the photo gives a bit of an idea what the traffic is like on a small road at off-peak times. One man told me that Saigon has a population of ten million people, with seven million motorbikes.

Sadly, this was my last day in Vietnam. I would have liked to have stayed longer, but it was time for me to catch my flight back to the USA. After taking this photo I strolled by the Reunification Palace, and then to the War Museum which was quite fascinating. Then back to the guesthouse to pick up my bags, and off to the airport. So long Asia. It's been fun. I hope to see you again one day.
