Yesterday we found out that Beth’s dog and best friend Henry had died. He was old and lived a long, good life as a fine dog and faithful companion. He was half golden and half something else, always reminding me of the great dogs that I had growing up - that cute grey face, mangy hair, and distinctively golden breath, along with a playful spirit and warm heart. I know Beth and family will miss Henry, and I will too.

The photo was taken by Beth’s mother (I think) on Beth’s recent trip home, where she got to spend some good time with Henry on the final leg of his long doggy life.

Ah, Beth!!! I’m sorry! Dogs are such great friends, if that’s the right word. You’re lucky to have had such a good dog. I know you’ll miss him! I’m glad you got to be with him just recently.

Thanks for all your nice comments. Poor old Henaroo… I know he is better off and resting easy now, but it still feels sad and lonely without his companionship.

Beth,
I know that our pets are family members. There is a void when they are gone. I love your name for him…Henaroo. Only a true pal could have that name. I agree with Peggy that Henry looks so sweet and you are beautiful. Not that that eases the hurt, but I can tell from the photo that Henry really was a family member.
