Heading east from Warrnambool, the start of The Great Ocean Road, you are immediately faced with turnoffs for stunning scenery every couple of kilometers. One of the first was The Bay of Islands, above. It is a group of rock formations in the sea, which form loads of little “islands” along the coast.
It might be hard to tell from the photos, but there are indeed many rock formations out in the water. It is hard to a true sense of a place like this in a photo, as you really need to be able to stand and turn 360 degrees to get the full effect.
Do you have more good pics of the bay of islands? I poked around on the web and found more. Pretty awesome scenery! Apparently there’s a bay of islands in NZ, too.
Yes Beth is here. You’d be worried if she wasn’t probably. Thanks for the knife Kriz. It’s great for cutting things. Unfortunately we aren’t doing much “traveling” at the mo. Mainly sitting in one place for large stretches of time.

Lovely. I found Warrnambool in the travel book and can see how the Great Ocean Road travels west from there.
