This is the same beach featured here, but taken in the evening.

It has finally felt like summer around here. After a pretty cool summer we had a couple days in the mid/upper 30s which felt really nice. I love coming home from a hot day at work and cooling off with a swim in the ocean.

Swimming in the ocean on a hot day after work sounds wonderful. If you did that here, you’d be an icicle. Current temps: Omaha -15, Rolfe -26; Expected highs today: Omaha 5, Rolfe -13.

F, not C

Sounds really nice – taking a swim in the ocean. You really found a great place to live.
It’s even -5 F here in Michigan (-20 C), which it hardly ever reaches. The good thing is the rest of the winter will feel great, since now 20 F will feel warm.
Saw a coyote crossing Pontiac Trail about a block from our house the other night. This morning I’ve got a few chickadees eating the suet/seed cakes Jon made for me (hanging outside my window).

I’m loving it for you! Swimming in the ocean right outside your home after a hot day at work–has to be near the top of the list of life’s greatest pleasures. Kudos to you for situating yourself so it could be!

And the photo is gorgeous–the subtle greens, blues, and browns . . . and the soft lines in the sand. And the lone gull at that time of “day.” Just gorgeous. Thanks for posting! XOXOX

Did you use a filter on your lens to help get those colors? Just curious. Any other “tricks” to getting it so beautiful?

Comment by josh — January 16, 2009 @ 12:36 pm

no filter… It just looks warm.

3:33 on Monday afternoon there . . . and 95 degrees!!!!! WOW!!!!! Will you be able to get that ocean swim today???

Comment by Peg — January 19, 2009 @ 2:36 pm

Or is it 2:33? The time noted on my last comment is an hour behind the “Melbourne Local Time” listed in the upper left-hand corner of the home page. Just wondering. XOXOX

Really, no biggee. Just curious. You’d think I’d have this time-zone thing figured out by now . . . after 2+ years! ;-)

It’s actually 4:30. I think the site might still be on new zealand time :) . I didn’t realize how hot it was. It’s cool in our office. Hopefully get a swim in after work.
