Albert Park

On the east side of central Auckland lies the University of Auckland. Between the university and downtown is Albert Park, shown here. The park is the site of one of Auckland’s earliest volcanoes, offering good views of the city and the harbor. The fountain in the picture is located on top of the hill/volcano along with a statue of Queen Victoria and a few cannons.

And, by the way, I’m curious which pictures (of these posted) were taken on your big camera and which on your small one. (Or maybe some are by Beth?) This Albert Park one is really vivid–nice color. Has the bigger camera been hard to get the hang of? Heavy for traveling? Any regrets? Too many questions? ;-)

Parks are cool, and so are volcanoes, but not very representative of New Zealand culture. Where are the sheep? I count like 8 people here and not one sheep. Obvious speciest bias.

Other than that, the pics are great. Keep them up.

All the pics posted so far have been taken with the Rebel XT (350D). I like the camera a lot. I also like having the Exilim (small camera) for when the Rebel isn’t practical. The pictures it takes are very good. I will post some of those later.
