So quickly we are back on the North Island. We caught the ferry over through huge six meter waves. Beth managed to not get sea sick.

We spent a couple of nights in Wellington with some friends. It was really windy, cold, and raining – as Wellington often is. Just a couple of days till Auckland.

It was almost 90 here today. Nice for Oct 8!! Leaves are turing. Pretty.
But this is the end of summer weather for this year.
The only bright spot about the Lions awful playing is Joey went 16 for 31 for 87 yards for Atlanta.
Normally I’d be rooting for the Yankees but for some reason I’m sick of hearing about how great they are. Go Tribe!

Where’d you guys stay?
I thought it was weird that the bus, train and ferry all met in pretty much the same place but there were only two places to stay anywhere near there: the backpacker and a hotel that’s $250/night.

We stayed with some friends that just bought a house in Upper Hut, a suburb pretty far out of the city. We did spend some time in the city though.

Dad, I am glad to hear you have come to your senses and are not rooting for the Yankees. I have never rooted for Cleveland in anything before.

I’ve been getting a lesson in computer programing from Peg. I feel like there should be a lower number for my intelligence in this area, comparable to class .001! :-) Grandpa Deane

Yes! I am really, really smart when it comes to programing! NOT! :-) Grandpa Deane, Louise, and I just finished lunch at Perkins and are still at the table with Louise’s laptop. It is fun being together. We looked at the John Deere website and I tried to explain, with my limited knowledge, what kinds of things you do, Josh, to make a website work. Ta ta for now! :-) XOXOXOX

Hi Josh, Just checking that you got Grandpa Deane’s comment on this post. I remember seeing it “post” when it was first submitted, but now I’m not seeing it in the comments. Maybe it’s something like his first entry and you have to approve it? Just checking. If you got it, it’d be fun to hear from you. But not a huge deal. Just have fun there! :-) XOXOX
