Cardrona ski field is located about 45 minutes north of Queenstown, halfway to Wanaka. It is not included on our season pass, but we had heard nice things about it and wanted to check it out before the end of the season.
We headed over a couple of days ago with some friends and had a great day of riding. The sun was out, and it had dumped about 50cm of snow over the past couple of days. We enjoyed a relaxed afternoon riding new terrain, and trying some new rails in the terrain park, which ran the full length of one of the chair lifts.
The photo above was the view we were treated to when taking a long easy run back to the car park. The run ran behind the ski field, and this was the view over the back of the mountain.
Beautiful. Thanks for providing this view. The snow must be what we saw on the peaks of the mountains as we looked across the lake in the other picture. The snow looks so refreshing. What’s the elevation?

I believe the elevation where I took that photo was around 1890m.
