Once our train arrived in Kuala Lumpur (KL), we got a cab to our hotel in Chinatown. The cab driver laughed and informed us that we were actually *IN* the Chinatown markets. So to get to our hotel we had to push through about 50 stalls selling stuff and then go through a store to get to reception. It was actually a pretty fun location with stalls selling everything from dried fruit to handbags. Beth got some sunnies (sunglasses).

After we checked in and turned on the air con we went for a walk around KL. There were lots of massive buildings, especially as we headed towards the part of town known as the Golden Triangle where we saw the Petronas Twin Towers, which used to be (2004?) the tallest buildings in the world. There’s all kinds of weird criteria and categories for tallnesses of buildings, but this might still hold the record for tallest twin buildings or something like that.

Wow! You are on a roll!!! I love these daily updates!!! :-) Amazing about all the stalls and all. Sounds like something out of a movie! And how provincial/uneducated of me to not realize just how **much** **city** there is over there! The buildings in this photo are . . . wow . . . **really** tall! And I think maybe I’d faint and/or heave on that catwalk. And speaking of catwalks and movies, *this* catwalk look like it could easily *be* in a movie! Thanks for keeping ‘em coming! :-) XOXOX

Very impressive. I’ve heard of these buildings and perhaps seen pictures in newspapers or magazines. Most people probably don’t realize there are huge urban areas in Malaysia. I understand you’re in Thailand now.

What kind of businesses are big in Kuala Lumpur? These buildings look awfully impressive. I’ve heard of them, but never seen a picture before.

Petronas is a big oil company. So I think that is one of the main industries. Not sure what else.

Glad you liked the photo. Something is stuffed up with my blog software and is resizing this one too small.
