The best part of Ko Phangan didn’t come until we moved beaches after a couple of days. We moved across the island (about 30 minute taxi ride) to Thong Nai Pan beach shown in the photo above.

When I say taxi ride, I really mean paying to ride in the back of a truck with a bunch of bags in your lap while driving up and down large hills on roads that reminded me of Ridge, all while hoping you don’t bounce out the back.
All the while seeing eight year old Thai boys riding around on motorbikes with their three year old sister in the front basket and their five year old brother hanging off the back – all with no helmets :) . This is Thailand.

Thong Nai Pan beach was actually two beaches. The one shown in the photo above, and then another one behind that photo separated by rocks. The beach was beautiful and peacefully quiet with just enough restaurants, hammocks, beach bars, and massage huts to keep you from thinking about leaving.

So, it got even better than the emerald green pool with the paradise view? Amazing! Marvelous description: “. . . beautiful and peacefully quiet with just enough restaurants, hammocks, beach bars, and massage huts to keep you from thinking about leaving.” I’m thrilled for Beth and you!!! Have you been getting massages?

And the photo is beautiful–love the composition and the soft, soft colors. Mmmmm!

And that whole middle paragraph! Love your growing way with descriptions! :-) I can picture it! (Of course, the Ridge Road reference helped! ;-) ) And the Thai boys on motorbikes with their little sisters and brothers–can so picture it! You make me laugh, Josh! (You always have! :-) ) XOXOX

We have both had one Thai massage so far. Keep meaning to get more, but amazingly have been to lazy or something.
