Continuing our trek around Tasmania, we stayed the night in Hobart, Australia’s second oldest city after Sydney. Here we found the Cascade Brewery, Australia’s oldest brewery. We didn’t go on a tour or anything, but we did enjoy walking around the gardens. I ate a lobster in Hobart and we spent some time at a downtown distillery tasting some expensive whiskeys (it was cold and that helped warm us up).

Man, living in Tasmania in 1824 must have really felt like being at the far end of the world. Hard to imagine what that was like.

Probably cold.

Very nice photo. I can think of several family members who would love to have been with you at this brewery.

Wow, now *that* is a brewery! So much history and architecture surrounded by so much rich scenery! If those walls could talk! (What would they say???) Thanks for sending and giving us a glimpse. XOXOX

Btw, why sometimes is the comment-ability “down”? Does that mean you’re working on the site? Not a big deal at all; just curious. Mum

Well, that was due to a bug in my website software. I have needed to upgrade it for quite a long time but haven’t had the time/motivation. I finally did it today. Go me. Hopefully posts will stop randomly turning off commenting. Plus the new WordPress admin interface looks awesome so far.

Yay, you!!! :-) (Can totally understand about the “time/motivation” element. Well, at least the motivation; I suppose I have a fair ammount of discretionary time. ;-) ) So, again, YAY, YOU!!! And cool that you like the new WordPress whatchamecallit (whatchemacallit? ;-) ). XOXOX
