This photo is very artistic. The alley probably doesn’t look nearly this nice, bright or colorful in person. I assume there’s lots of permanent “artwork” on the walls.

I agree–the photo looks very artsy. Good eye, Josh! Just like in that photography link Dad sent. Love seeing what catches your artist’s eye. I didn’t comment on the “Blokes” post–just didn’t get to it. But that photo, too, was from a very cool vantage point and created a definite feel/mood. Most people would never catch that. !!! How did it feel? Is it a more-bearable dry heat like in Arizona? Or a high-humidity heat? Do you like it even that high? Yeah it was hot all night, and it’s already 100 now before 11am. It’s meant to be hotter than yesterday so we’ll see. The humidity isn’t too bad (nothing like NC), but it’s not really a dry heat either. It just feels hot. Some of the trains are air conditioned, but we don’t have AC at the apartment.
The trains were delayed massively this morning. Apparently the trains don’t function very well during “extreme heat.” It took me over 2 hours to get to work today, and normally it is like 40 minutes.
Last night we went to the Australian Open and watched Nadal defeat Simon in the mens quarterfinals. Neither of us had ever been to see tennis live and it was a lot of fun. They had to close the roof of the arena during the day because it was just too hot.
I’ve been watching Serena Williams vs. ?? from Russia tonight. The announcers keep talking about the heat (100+ C outdoors) and being glad the roof is closed. I’m glad you got to go to yesterday’s match. What fun! What an experience.
Keep cool! Maybe the best place to be is in the water.

I think it looks pretty cool at night. I don’t have any photos though.
It’s only 10:30 am and already 33C/93F. The paper said that this could be the hottest week on record since 1908.
Oh and we are going to the Australian Open tonight. Nadal vs Simon. I’m excited.

Yeah lots of street art. I think it looks pretty good in person. Not always that much trash though.
