We took a day trip kayaking down the Mekong river. The water was quite low, but it was still enjoyable. We had a Laos guide, and cruised for a couple of hours going through a bit of rapids here and there.

What a great photo capture, Josh! I know I use that word “capture” a lot, but it communicates (to me at least) your ability to **see** distinctive and unique photo possibilities . . . and your energy, enthusiasm, skill, and initiative to go get them permanently on record–to *seize* them! Kudos to you! As Grandpa Lester would say, this one “has composition all over it!”

Excited with you, too, about the kayakiing. Don’t leave SE Asia without it! Another capture/go-get/seize! XOXOX

Hi Mark. Laos is great. You will have a good time. In Luang Prabang there are just about an infinite amount of places to book trips. Most of the offer kayak trips including the boat hire, mini bus ride, guide, etc. We weren’t looking to just hire a kayak and go on our own. You may be able to find that if that is what you want.
