This dog sums up how we felt after a week on Ko Phangan. We had an excellent week lazing around on the beach and in hammocks, and hanging out with a Swedish couple we met in the back of a truck taxi. However, sadly it came time to leave.

We took a 1 hour boat taxi to Ko Tao, a much smaller island just north of Ko Phangan. Ko Tao is known for incredible snorkeling and diving as it is surrounded by an huge reef system.

Aw, nice dog. And a great illustration for you felt after your luscious, lazy week!

Looking forward to glimpses into Ko Tao. Sounds **beautiful**!

You going snorkling? Sounds like a great place!

We took a one day snorkling trip around the island. More later.

Should we be worried? On Yahoo! this morning: “BANGKOK – Thailand’s prime minister narrowly escaped a savage attack and rioting erupted in Bangkok as protesters commandeered public buses and swarmed triumphantly over military vehicles in unchecked defiance after the government declared a state of emergency.”

Yes there is lots of protesting going on in Bangkok now. We saw it when we were there. For the most part it seems peaceful – lots of people in red shirts standing around, blocking some roads and such – but there has been some violence directed towards the current Prime Minister. Luckily we got out of town before they shut down the airport or anything (this happened last time there were protests in December).
